Why we build like operators

Two years before turning to bespoke software, our founder published a piece of SaaS heresy: operations isn't a cost center. It's where revenue is defended and grown.

He'd earned the view at SAP SuccessFactors, where he led finance, strategy, and service quality inside one of the largest SaaS businesses in the world. The essay's numbers make the case: cut annual downtime from 45 hours to under five, and renewals climb six points, margins two. Nobody applauds the quarter when nothing breaks. The renewal does.

We bring it up because of what we sell: software you own. Ownership means the running of it is no longer hidden inside some vendor's rent — so we design for the unglamorous half from the first sketch: monitoring, reliability, graceful failure, the things that decide whether people still trust the system in year three. We build like operators because our founder is one.
